Kokedama (Japanese Moss Balls)

Rachel’s indoor gardening session is inspired by Kokedama or Japanese Moss Balls which are self-contained indoor gardens. These small but perfectly formed miniature gardens feature ornamental plants grown in a ball of soil wrapped in moss.

Prepare your materials.

  • Sheet moss (bought) or coir (from the liner of an old hanging basket)
  • Garden twine
  • Scissors
  • A mini house plant.
